THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR'S PEEKABOO HALLOWEEN is a charming holiday-themed board book that toddlers will love. The book features a rhyme on each page spread along with a seasonal image in which The Very Hungry Caterpillar is hiding for a Peekaboo!

What I loved: This is a simple concept, but it is also lots of fun for little ones. The rhyming text is fun to listen to and read aloud, and the repetitive peekaboos are perfect for little ears. Adding to that, there is a small visual search and find task as toddlers search for where The Very Hungry Caterpillar may be on each seasonal image. This helps with developing visual skills and identifying a familiar character, all of which is great for young toddlers. There are no flaps to lift or any of that, and the caterpillar is poking out in each image. Simple, but fun!

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, some of the rhymes did not have a great rhythm with changing numbers of syllables that can trip you up a tiny bit when reading. That being said, as you get used to reading it, this goes more smoothly, and little ears still love the rhymes!
