This is Hip-Hop and Other Street Dances, a board book that offers a basic foundation of street dances for young readers. I read this book with a young toddler, and the illustrations were engaging and kept her attention. In fact, I sent this book home with her family and was later told that their five-year-old was doing his best to create hip hop moves all around the house. This book has a sentence or two per page to describe the dances and where they can be performed. In many ways, this book acts more like a picture book but in board book format.
I was surprised that this board book contains a glossary in the back. To gain the full advantage of the content, the reader needs to be preschool-aged and older. This book does a nice job of conveying the joy of dance, has representation for several dances, and inspires the reader to get up and move.
