Timothy Smallbeast is not big, or strong but he works to get stronger. At night he drinks fortified milk, and eats tough cookies. Then he exercises and thinks strong thoughts. His efforts are fruitless until his mother refurbishes his pj's with strong thread and sturdy patches . . .and suddenly he can pull his bedroom door right off its hinges. Yes, Timothy is now powerful, thanks to those strong pajamas of his.

The next day, Timothy persuades his mother to let him wear his pj's all day. Equipped with pajama power, he is able to perform all kinds of superhero feats, such as rescuing an elephant lady who is falling off a cliff. And when Timothy needs help to save a friend, those he has saved step in to help him. However, all that superhero work has messed up those strong pajamas . . .until Timothy's mother makes them "better than ever."

This book is perfectly delightful with its endearing characters, action-packed storyline, and adorable illustrations. Children and parents alike will delight in its "read it again" appeal. Very highly recommended.
