Sixteen year-old Melissa Austin is a junior in high school. She was having a wonderful time in high school and has planned her year for the best. Melissa was smart and pretty. Everything was going well for her, but then she got lymphocytic leukemia, a form of cancer. She struggled to go through the hard times of leukemia with the help of her family and her best friend, Jory Delaney. Leukemia has changed everything, but Melissa was still herself. She continued to fight for her dreams, like going to Princeton University and becoming a lawyer.
This book is very emotional and realistic, and inspiring. Lurlene McDaniel is also a very good author.
