The perfect read for Lunar New Year, starring siblings Lily and Noah as they enjoy the festivities and learn all about lion dancers.

Beyond the fun family story, I enjoyed learning about the lion dance, how the costume fits together, at what sorts of festivals it is often performed, and the general air of celebration bursting from a Lunar New Year parade. Instruments also get a feature, with cymbals and drums, and there's the original lore behind the lion dance at the end.

Readers of Mooncakes Mean Family will love this addition to the Lunar New Year reading library, that's full of Shum's signature adorable illustrations that'll get everyone pulling out boxes and tape to DIY their own lion costumes.
