WHAT'S THAT NOISE? MOO! is a fun book of animal sounds for young toddlers. Children are asked what a sound is that they can hear by pressing a silver button. They can then lift=the-flap to see the illustrated animal making the sounds. This book features a pig, sheep, hen, and cow before the final page features a mirror and a giggling baby sound.
What I loved: Children who love to explore sounds and animals will really get into this board book. The oversized flaps are easy to turn and add to the fun of the simple premise. The sound buttons are likewise easy to find and press, and the animal sounds are fun to hear and name for young readers - they are the actual animal sounds which can then be described as oinking, mooing, etc. The end mirror is perfect for young toddlers who will love spotting themselves in it.
Large and clear font throughout makes it easy to read aloud, and the repetitive phrases are ideal for the youngest of readers. The book includes an on/off switch that is easy to maneuver, and I really appreciate that it uses AAA batteries, which are so much easier to change than button batteries. A QR code for the audiobook version is also included for readers who are interested.
Final verdict: WHAT'S THAT NOISE? MOO! is an engaging lift-the-flap board book that will work well for young toddlers who love animals and sounds.
