Who Ate the Little bug? Is a fun story for babies and toddlers that asks who ate the little bug. The use of animals and colors works as a concept book and is reminiscent of Bill Martin Jr.'s Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? There is a cute twist at the end to answer the question. The true allure of this book is the colorful concentric circles cut out. I read this with a toddler, and she was mesmerized by running her fingers over the texture created by the cutouts. Even when I went on to other books, the toddler I was reading with continued to hold this book in her lap and play with the texture for at least another 15 minutes. Overall, this book is great for color and animal identification, has a fun twist to answer the question, but above all, it offers a unique texture experience that will have young brains intrigued.
