Wolf in the City is a unique look at the “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side” metaphor. In a quaint little town is a wolf statue that decides to find another place to reside. Ultimately, no place is as good as the place he came from, and everyone in his village is happy at his return. The idyllic illustrations of his journey feel vaguely French or Greek, giving it a timeless, folksy quality. Overall, the story is engaging, and Wolf learns an important lesson, as do the readers, by extension.
