Lily and her fairy friends have a yearly fashion show to highlight their nature-inspired couture and accessories. When Lily's human friend expresses an interest in the show, the fairies work together to have a "fairy makeover". They style Willow's hair, make a flower chain, find some sparkly accessories, and even fashion wings for this understanding human. At dusk, the fairies light up the runway and show off their outfits, even providing Willow with a little magical, sparkly fairy dust.
Good Points
The text is simple, the font is large, and the story moves quickly. The illustrations are beautiful, and it's fun to see all of the imaginative fairy fashions. I especially liked that Lily made up a list of jobs for the fairies to do. Modeling delegation is important for even the youngest readers!

Children who are just beginning to read often love playing dress up, so this book will launch a lot of imaginative play. Be prepared for some creative hairdos, and make sure to have a supply of sparkly fabric and old costume jewelry on hand!

If you have a young fashionista who is starting to read, Jackson's Fairies Welcome series is a great one to include with other fun and magical books like Holabird and Warburton's Twinkle and the Fairy Flower Garden, Rosenthal and Barrager's Uni the Unicorn titles, or Dennis and Smillie's Flower Wings series.
