From the bestselling author of Going Home, which Sophie Kinsella hailed as "fabulous," comes a novel sure to touch and delight anyone who believes in love. Laura Foster is a hopeless romantic. Her friends know it, her parents know it - even Laura acknowledges she lives either with her head in the clouds or buried in a romance novel. It's proved harmless enough, even if it hasn't delivered her a real-life dashing hero yet. But when her latest relationship ends in a disaster that costs her friendships, her job, and nearly her sanity, Laura swears off men and hopeless romantic fantasies for good. With her life in tatters around her, Laura agrees to go on vacation with her parents. After a few days of visiting craft shops and touring the stately homes of England, Laura is ready to tear her hair out. And then, while visiting grand Chartley Hall, she crosses paths with Nick, the sexy, rugged estate manager. She finds she shares more than a sense of humor with him - in fact, she starts to think she could fall for him. But is Nick all he seems? Or has Laura got it wrong again? Will she open her heart only to have it broken again?

This book took me awhile to read but it was still a good page-turner. I really liked the characters of the book because the way Harriet Evans talks about them, it really makes them into real people. At times, I wanted to yell at the characters and other times, I wanted to hold their hands so they could cry. I really liked this book because I am too a hopeless romantic, just like Laura.

A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans
A review by Ali Stavros
A Hopeless Romantic was one of the few novels that I have actually been able to read the whole thing of and not get bored of or stop reading. This book kept me entertained the whole time probably because of the way that Harriet Evans kept you guessing throughout the whole time. This novel was about a young girl name Laura Foster who in her past has not had a very successful love life. She kept going from one bad relationship to another. Once she was put on a break from work, for about three weeks, and got out of a screwed up relationship, she decided to go on a holiday with her parents to get away from everything. When Laura least expected it, she found a new person. She would not let herself fall this man named Nick no matter how much she wanted to. Eventually she did drop her guard, but he did not end up being who she thought he was. Since Laura had already fallen for the man she thought Nick was, she ended up giving him a second chance and going through his rich and famous life style with him. This did not work out the way she had hoped so she walked out and went back home. Once Laura had finally gotten her life back to normal who comes to her apartment and tries to make everything better between them but Nick. Do things work out? I think that you are going to have to read for yourself and find out
