This was a sweet book that takes a nostalgic approach showing one child growing up and having a child of their own. I liked the vibrant and textured look the color pencil illustrations gave the story. The words were poetic and not always descriptive which lends itself to an older audience/ adult appreciation of what the book is depicting. This book would be good for graduations and other milestones where you can look back and reflect on where you have come from and dream of what will come next. For that reason, I am not sure how many children in the age group it is marketed for are ready for the deep reflective thoughts this book inspires. However, my own children are always striving to be older and getting ready for their next step in growing up. I could see this book appealing to children like them who want to imagine their future successes. Overall, it is a deep and thoughtful book on the cyclical nature of our lives.
