Quirky and earnest BubbleCat is planning a party for Nana. He's starting to feel overwhelmed by his friends' great ideas, but maybe there's a way to have the perfect party afterall.
BubbleCat is definitely very relatable as he learns the importance of sticking up for himself. It's good to want to help others, but sometimes the best thing for everyone is to say no if it's more than one person (or cat) can handle.
The illustrations are also unique, with a mix of cartoons and photos for a mixed media feel. All the dialogue also comes in bubbles, comic style. BubbleCat's friends come in all shapes and sizes, including deer or mice made of pinecones, and the way the animals are made of different materials reminds me of the old Look-A-Like books.
Overall, a great story about family and friends that'll leave you excited to pick up BubbleCat's other adventures.
