Sleepy Sheepy has to find the perfect costume for trick-or-treating, and sheepy wants to be the scariest, hairiest, werewolf of all. Unfortunately Sheepy finds that the costume doesn’t fit right, and when Sheepy ventures outside he sees that everyone is a werewolf. What is he to do with no planned backup and its already Halloween night?
What I Liked: If you haven’t read any of the other books in the Sleepy Sheepy series, this book is going to have you wanting to get your hands on the others. Sleepy Sheepy is a lovable character who has cute expressions as his eyes are always half closed to emphasize his sleepiness.
The colors in this book do a great job at emerging you into the Halloween setting as they use various shades of purple. Each illustration builds upon the previous ones to move the story along. The illustrations are lively and fun as they depict Sleepy Sheepy going through his journey of wanting to be a werewolf to finding his own unique costume. The illustrations also depict Sleepy Sheepys family as they all help him with this journey, and show his mom and dad bringing his siblings along during trick or treating and more activities.
Final Verdict: Creepy Sheepy is a fun and spooky addition to the sleepy sheepy series as it explores being unique through a Halloween theme. Children ages 3 and up will enjoy listening as Sleepy Sheepy prepares for Halloween and learns the importance of being unique. This story is great to bring out during Halloween as children pick out their own costumes, and may struggle with not getting the exact one they were planning on wearing.
