DON'T EVER CONGA WITH A COW is a silly pop-up board book that young readers will enjoy. Each page spread features an action that should not do, such as wake a rooster, try to trick a sheep, or blame a pig when you've made a mess. The rhyming text contains lots of animal-related puns as it goes around the farm.

What I loved: The rhyming text has a great rhythm, and the text itself is nice and large, so easy to read aloud. The text telling the reader not to do silly things with the animals will appeal to toddlers who will enjoy the idea of doing things you are not supposed to. The illustrations are colorful and detailed with plenty to visually explore on each page.

The pop-ups are well done with a sense of motion as the pages open/close, and they really bring each scene to life. For instance, on the don't try to trick a sheep page, the cat in wolf costume and one of the sheep have a motion like they are running, with the tractor popping out of the page.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the pop-ups are about cardstock thickness and easy to tear. Rough little readers will easily remove these from the book, and the pages only have blank scenery behind them, so the images are lost when removed. The text is luckily all on the page, so they could still be read even when the images are gone.

Final verdict: DON'T EVER CONGA WITH A COW is a silly pop-up board book that toddlers can enjoy moving and giggling through.
