A story about how to handle disappointment and the importance of communicating feelings, even when it's hard. Milo is so happy Mini and his friends remember his birthday, however when Mini gives him a present he can't use, Milo starts to feel down. He doesn't think his friends mean to hurt his feelings, but as he feels more and more excluded, his negative emotions bottle up, until they all come rushing out at once. It takes a good talk and some vulnerability for Milo and Mini to share their feelings and become even better friends than before.

This starts as a birthday book and turns into so much more. Miscommunications and bad moments are bound to happen, even with the best of friends, and its so important to learn that its okay to feel hurt by good intentions, and often the best solution is to talk things out. Apart from the big lessons, it's just fun to see animals being friends and doing everyday things, like having play dates or going to school.

Recommend for the animal lovers, and those who want to be a good friend.
