Are there certain facts about bugs that you are certain of? Such as bees dying when they sting you, or it's a spider if it has eight legs. Well, this book will tell you why you are wrong and why you are mistaken. There are so many bugs out there that it’s impossible to know everything about each one of them, but come along as you begin to uncover the truth and debunk common myths that you might have heard.
What I Liked: Now, how many of us would much rather go our whole lives not knowing certain insects and bugs? I know that I am one of those people, but this book was fascinating and made me want to dive deep into some of these bugs, and just where they are found and what they do. This is a book that will live on your shelves, that you will find yourself pulling out anytime you are looking for a fun fact to share with people.
While realistic, the illustrations in this book have been enlarged to show varying details of the different bugs. There were various bugs included in this book, which was intriguing, especially when seeing spiders or other bugs that are non native to anywhere that I have been. It was also fascinating to learn that there are some bugs that look like spiders but due to certain features they wouldn’t be classified as spiders, and that there is an insect that is longer than the average cat.
Final Verdict: Everything You Know About Bugs (And Other Tiny Creatures) Is Wrong is a fascinating book that delves deep into myths and other information that we may have thought was common knowledge that is wrong. Children ages 8 and up who enjoy bugs will love learning more about the various bugs that are in their backyards and others that we may not come into contact with as often. This book will teach you the beauty of the bug world and the various ways in which bugs contribute to the exosystem.
