GUESS WHO? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! is a delightful lift-the-flap picture book! A character is bringing a gift to a friend on each page with a door that lifts to reveal who the Christmas-related friend is. On the last page, they all team up to bring a gift to someone - who turns out to be the reader with a mirror in place behind the door.

What I loved: This text has fantastic rhythm and repetition that is perfect for toddlers and young preschoolers. With the swapping out of creatures, it otherwise features the same text on each page that rolls off the tongue. Little ears will appreciate how easy it is to understand and follow. The text is also easy to read on each page for caregivers sharing the story at any time of day or in low light settings like bedtime.

The images are fantastic- full of Christmas details and adorable characters, including a penguin, santa, reindeer, elf, and more! The flaps are large and easy to move from the page to reveal each character as they knock on the door with a gift. The non-religious Christmas theme is delightful to share with little ones.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, I really wish this was a board book! The book is fantastic for the littlest readers with the repetition, rhythm, and imagery, but the paper door flaps and pages can be easy to tear for enthusiastic young fingers.
