When Roosters come out to sing and hens lose their eggs, it's up to the reader to match the hen to the correct eggs based on their patterns. Readers will get the chance to follow footprints and chase away mice while the chaos of patterns unfold. HATCH AND MATCH is a great way to ring in the spring and would make an engaging Easter present for young readers. It's a great tool for beginners to help them recognize patterns and adapt early comprehension skills. The writing offers some rhyming that gives the story an extra twang. With the vibrant colors and chaotic/wacky pictures, it makes my daughter excited to paint her own eggs this holiday. There is also some added humor, such as the eggs in a shoe that made my daughter laugh.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to children aged two and older for a fun springtime activity and a way to get them away from their screens for a while.
