It’s the Easter Beagle. Charlie Brown is a delightful flashback for me to share with my kids, and we can even watch the show accompanying this book. What I delight in most with this story is that Peppermint Patty is determined to share the magic of dying easter eggs, but poor Marcy doesn’t understand the concept of boiling eggs. Can you blame her? Usually, when you eat eggs, you crack them before you do whatever you're doing with them, but that is not the case when you boil them. The illustrations are a treasure as they are the same as I grew up with, and the best part of this Peanuts story is that Linus tells the truth, unlike Halloween and the Great Pumpkin incident. Children and adults will delight in discussing Easter traditions and how wrong and silly Lucy is about it being the gift-giving season. Start your Easter Traditions off with the Peanuts gang and welcome spring.
