When Judy eats bowl after bowl of cereal in order to get to the prize in the box, she's dazzled to find a mood ring. Although she concentrates on happy thoughts, the mood ring declares Judy's mood to be black, meaning grumpy. She realizes she must be in a terrible mood and not even know it, so she goes looking for a reason to be a grouch. She finally discovers that reason after she tosses the mood ring in the trash and Stink takes it.

Judy decides she will con Stink into believing she has the power to predict the future. But, her trick works so well that Judy not only gets her ring back but she actually begins to believe in her own powers. Hey, Judy doesn't even have to study anymore . . .or so she believes. Oops. But Judy is about to make the biggest prediction of all. Can she pull it off?

This is yet another great read in the Judy Moody series. Author Megan McDonald continues to make readers laugh while subtly slipping in big ideas. As always, Peter H. Reynolds' illustrations add to the fun.
