I can't imagine not loving to cook. First of all, it's fun. Secondly, you're rewarded with something luscious to enjoy. Rozanne Gold is an award-winning chef who started her career at age 23 when she began cooking for New York Mayor Ed Koch. She brings her expertise to this introduction to cooking for kids (or older inexperienced cooks), which features tons of delicious-looking recipes all made from just three ingredients.

Three ingredients sound doable, but some may wonder if it's limiting. Not at all. With this book, you can make (among many other dishes) breakfasts, free-form pretzels, pork chops with sauteed apples (oh, yum), pasta with broccoli, soups, and the gotta-try-it "Heavenly Chocolate Mousse Cake."

Each recipe is clearly spelled out in an easy to follow fashion. An introduction tells us how Ms. Gold became interested in cooking (as a small child, she carried a cookbook around like a security blanket!) A chapter called "Getting Started" talks about food and personal safety, following recipes, ingredients, equipment, and food terms. Illustrations by Sara Pinto are whimsical and appetizing.

I can't wait to buy this book for the children in my life . . .and, of course, one for myself. Highly recommended.
