I was completely captivated by this book. The storytelling is excellent! Every page is full of fabulous adventures (Like crocodile wrestling and fish raining from the sky!) which young readers will certainly find exciting, but the adventures are book-ended by the story of the man who wrote those adventures down. The man who started out homeless, studied journals of other adventurers, found incredible fame and fortune with his published journal, and then lost that fame and fortune when he lost all credibility. I was as invested in the story of Henri Grin as I was captivated by his adventures.

I especially enjoyed that the adventurous claims made by Henri were researched by the author and proven plausible. The illustrations are whimsical and colorful, and I think most readers will thoroughly enjoy this book.
