Wayne Anderson's fabulously intricate and original illustrations are the highlight of this Christmas tale about a little girl who wants to give a special someone a perfect gift but might not be able to find what she's looking for. While the story's message isn't 100% clear, children will love re-reading this book for the pictures. Anderson's striking use of colour and his excellent composition (particularly the balance between large and small shapes) will mean there's always something new to be found in his illustrations.
