A DAY AT ABBOTT ELEMENTARY is a children’s picture book based on the hit TV show Abbott Elementary. The story follows the teachers and staff at Abbott as they attempt to deal with a squirrel running amuck in their school.

What I Loved:
The book is a great send-up to the show. The original charm and humor of the show is there, just made to suit younger audiences. The illustrations in the book are ones that I can perfectly imagine coming from the show.

The story was fun and wacky. Who knew a squirrel could cause such chaos for adults? It was a very enjoyable read. It was fun getting to see the teachers try to come up with ways to catch the squirrel, just to see the way those same plans didn’t work out.

The artwork is amazing and truly captures the essence of each of the characters. It’s colorful and neat in a way that will engage young readers. The backgrounds are detailed but diluted adding to the whimsy but not taking away focus from the main story.

While the book is great for fans of the show, people who have never seen the show will also enjoy it. It manages to capture a wacky adventure at an elementary school well and does not rely on knowing who the characters in the book are.

Final Verdict:
Whether you or your family has seen Abbott Elementary, I recommend giving A DAY AT ABBOTT ELEMENTARY a try. This picture book is fun and creative while still managing to capture the essence of the show.
Good Points
-Wacky plot
