As with the previous book, DIARY OF A WORM, DIARY OF A SPIDER is full of funny, interesting, and (yes, honestly!) heartwarming bits. Readers learn a few things (spiders aren't insects, and they molt); watch the main character learn what to do during a vacuum cleaner emergency ("Stop, Drop, and Run"); and enjoy the friendships between Spider and Worm, and even more unlikely--Spider and Fly!
In addition, there's a subtle lesson of tolerance in the book as Spider bemoans the fact that people judge spiders on the few that bite: " . ..if we took the time to get to know each other, we would get along just fine."
Highly recommended, for a thoroughly enjoyable read coupled with whimsically wonderful illustrations.
