FUN ON THE FARM is an adorably ridiculous read. The book uses rhyming phrases to anthropomorphize farm animals in the cutest ways. For instance, did you know that horses are talented dancers who are excellent at the foxtrot and ice skating? Or that pigs love to be pampered while reading in the tub? This clever book is a delight for young children who love to laugh.
What I loved: This book is full of brightly-colored and cute animals, each spread featuring plenty of fun details to keep young children engaged as they take in each funny scene. A particular favorite in our house is the goats inside the laundry basket. The text rhymes and tells a silly story about animals that will delight older infants and young toddlers. The phrases roll easily off the tongue and are as fun to read as they are for young children to listen to.
The text is printed clearly and in an easy-to-read size, making it perfect for reading aloud. The pop-ups are very sturdy and featured on every page. They are hard for children to remove. However, a really cool feature is that the image printed on them is also printed underneath, so for strong children who are able to tear them, the book maintains the story and illustrations. The thick board book pages are easy for even the youngest children to turn, as the pop-ups provide a little space. Young readers will enjoy flipping through these pages on their own.
Final verdict: Charming, silly, and brightly colored, this pop-up board book is a whole lot of toddler fun. Highly recommend for parents looking for something to capture young imaginations.
