Poor, poor Amelia Bedelia! She is sooo confused, as always. And, as always, that confusion makes for some hilarious reading.

Now, you might think Mr. Rogers would learn to choose his words a little more carefully when he speaks to Amelia. For example, asking her to hand him a hammer but first crack the window is a bit of a SHATTERING experience. And, of course, when Mrs. Rogers asks Amelia to add some leaves to the table, the reader is pretty sure what's coming: a big pile of fall leaves, plus lots of laughs. However, in this book, Amelia manages to trick everyone more than once.

The illustrations truly add to the story, with some clever Halloween costumes, which might inspire kids as they prepare for their own trick-or-treating.

HAPPY HAUNTING, AMELIA BEDELIA is a treat for everyone! The book is billed as an "I Can Read, Level 2: High-interest stories for developing readers" and will also work well as a read-aloud.
