LET'S PRETEND FIRE STATION is a delightful peek-through board book about firefighters. The book features pictures of children, firetrucks, and related fire equipment with illustrated backgrounds to give basic information about firefighting. Each page has a unique shape that finishes with the cool fire station design you see as the cover.

What I loved: This simple board book covers the basics of firefighting, from the time the signal is heard at the station to arriving on the scene of the fire and putting it out (here, just some illustrated trees) all the way until the trucks go back to the station. Cool die-cut peekaboos and uniquely shaped pages add to the experience. The pages are each nice and thick, making them easy to turn and very sturdy to hold up to even the strongest of young readers.

A really cool feature of the book is the inclusion of photographs for the people and trucks, so the firefighters are real children dressed up! Young kids love looking at real people (and especially other children), so this is a really delightful feature. Some basic facts about firefighting, such as some of their equipment and that they work in shifts, adds to the value of the read.

Final verdict: Perfect for infants and toddlers, LET'S PRETEND FIRE STATION is a delightful board book about firefighting. Great for young fire station enthusiasts or children who just love to learn about the people around them.
