MAISY'S CIRCUS SHOW is an interactive board book that features Maisy and friends putting on performances. They walk the tight rope, juggle, dive in patterns, and bounce on the trampoline through this simple story.

What I loved: Repeating characters are really great for the youngest of readers, and Maisy has such a great collection of books. This is a good choice for older infants and young toddlers, as it is very simple but also allows children to play with the book. Each of the 4 page spreads includes an interactive element, such as a sliding panel and rotating circle. These elements make the story one that children can interact in, by moving the wheel to make the friends dive or by pulling up and down the panel to help Maisy jump on the trampoline.

The story features the typical Maisy art with plenty of bright colors and thick lines that help children delineate the images. The font is large and dark, making it easy to read aloud. It also remains brief on each page, which will work well for intended, young audience.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the book only includes 4 page spreads, which feels a bit short. Additionally, two of the interactive elements are the same (it uses the same tool on the front and back of the page).

Final verdict: MAISY'S CIRCUS SHOW is a board book that is sure to delight the youngest of readers with its bright colors, simple story, and unique interactive elements.
