HOW TO SAY I LOVE YOU: DELIGHTFUL POEMS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY is a collection of poems for children to enjoy on Valentine's Day. There are a few classic favorites in the mix, but most are designed for children by Mr. Boddington's Studio. I like the collection of classical poems and how they add depth to the book. The one's written for children include animals as the main characters and most of them are silly with child-like themes, such as comparing love to cake and candy. The water-color style illustrations are vibrant and simplistic. The animals throughout the book make the poems more appealing to younger children. This would be a great way to introduce poetry to children who show an interest in literature because it can expand their viewpoint. My daughter even found inspiration and tried to write some of her own.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this as a Valentine's Day gift to children's aged four and older who enjoy poems and animals. It's a unique book with the mixture of classical poems and child-driven ones.
