Review Detail

There's a talent show, and everybody has a special talent to showcase except for Penguin. Kids will enjoy Penguin's disastrous attempts to copy his friends' talents. I think the message that while his talent might not be something you can win a trophy for, it's still unique and valuable is a great lesson for kids to learn. However, the sparse style of the illustrations and the equally sparse style of prose left me wanting a bit more. It just didn't have that magic spark for me. Another reader might very well enjoy the things that left me a little cold, so this is a book worth looking into.
