Reader reviewed by RuthieBethany Hamilton has been my hero since I first heard about the shark attack in 03'. Not only does it take guts to get back on that board, but it takes a lot of mental stress to deal with the trauma. Bethany is, most definitely, a strong individual. While her book is obviously not written by a long-term, professional author, it is a good story about faith and combating fear and rationality. Her story inspires you. I love it.
As for the movie, I also give it credit. The producers stayed 100% true to the book and I thought Robb did a great job as Bethany. While the book focuses on the faith and mental aspect, the movie really played up the surfing. The movie showed us all the action, from catching the perfect wave, to wiping out. It was a great movie and I'd suggest it to any Bethany/surfer fan.

Soul Surfer is a great book because of the details and writing.It is very intresting to be able to read about something so tragic.I think that Bethany is a real good writer,because she has great details and a good mind.In the book i like to read about the attack and when she tells about her family.Soul Surfer is a great book.I think it was very cool that she got to be on tv and that she got to share her story.Some people might not like reading non-fiction like me but this book is very intresting at some points it didnt even seem like non-fiction.

I've always wanted to go surfing, and now it feels like I have. Bethany Hamilton put me in her place in the autobiogrphy Soul Surfer.

In the book Soul Surfer a young 13 year old girl named Bethany Hamilton went throught a very tragic event.

It was a sunny Halloween morning in Hawaii, and Bethany was surfing with her best friend Alana. Then out of nowhere a huge 14ft tiger shark bit off her arm. When she got to the hospital she thought she would never surf agian, but soon she will relize how strong she really is and what she can do.

Bethany Hamilton is a hero to me because after the attack she got on a board and started surfing again.If it were me were me I would have given up,I'd find something else to.I would have died without an arm because I do many things that takes two arms to do.

I always wanted to go surfing and through this book I did."Soul Surfer" told me all about surfing so I leaned alot.I even learned surf talk.It was a GREAT and inspiring book.

I have never went surfing nor have i been to Hawaii. The author Bethany Hamilton made me want to be there with her, it made me feel as if i had been attacked right along with her. When she was in the hospital feeling her pain. She done an awesome job on not paniking when she was attacked. Thats how she lived. If i was there i would have so paniked. If you want to know more you'll have to read the book. To tell you the truth you will love the book!!!!! I know i sure did!!!

To me Soul Surfer is a book about a pashinet surfer who loves to go surfing but one day shegetsshe gets hurt in a serious accident and she has her friends and family there with her.Eventhough Bethany had her arm bit off by a fourteen foot long tiger shark she wasnt worried she puther heart in god and everything was ok and even all that happened she still had the stength and power to get back on board

It was on Halloween and Bethany was surfing and some of her friends come alonge with her.She was only 13 years youg.She thinks that the refesion off of her wache made the shark come to her.She sayed cool and did not feek out.She also won come back athlete of the year.[2004]She is so luckey because she can still surf with only one arm.

It was halloween monring when Bethany was surfing utile Bethany got her arm bite off by a tiger shark.Bethany was 13 years old when she had paddle back to the beach.Bethany lost 60% of bloob in her body.Bethany never gave up she was a person who chased her dreams.She was strong and loved to surf.Thats why she is called soul surfer.

Soul surfer is a great inspiring book for the whole family. Bethany Hamilton gives great, vivid descriptions of her life and the attack of the 14-foot tiger shark. Bethany is a hero for many people Because even though she got her arm bitten off she still got back on the board and kept surfing.

This was a book about courage and bravery. She did not give up. She kept God in everything she did. She acted like he was right beside her. I liked this book because she wrote what she had to go through and her emotions in her point of view and I understood it in my point of view.
