Steve and Maggie is based on a new youtube show for preschoolers. The illustrations were a bit wacky. Steve in real life has some facial hair but the illustrations have it as a ring of yellow around his mouth that was distracting. There is a lot going on per page but the action moves quickly and has many silly mistakes that preschoolers are likely to enjoy. Overall, the topic of birthday parties and coming together with friends is sure to be an engaging topic. I was unfamiliar with this duo but fans of the series will likely be excited to dive into the more fantastical aspects that a book format provides.
