The Outer Space Mystery Pizza Club: Elvis Is Missing is a fast-paced chapter book that takes readers on an adventure through outer space. When Elvis, the family dog, mysteriously vanishes, Mateo, his sister Valentina, best friend Booker, and teenage babysitter Jennica go to investigate. They go through a portal that brings them to a new planet
and takes them on some strange adventures.

What I Liked: This mystery story is age-appropriate for its target audience. There is nothing scary or horror-driven; instead, it's just a mystery about where Elvis, their beloved dog, has gone. Each time they get a lead and think they are close to finding him, something else happens, leading them on another epic adventure. Readers will enjoy the silly humor and funny characters in this book. This is a good choice for new-chapter readers since there are illustrations scattered throughout the chapters that give context to the story.

What Left Me Wanting More: As mentioned, this book is very fast-paced. Elvis goes missing almost immediately and the adventure begins. I would have liked to have seen more time spent developing the characters and connecting with them.

Young readers will enjoy The Outer Space Mystery Pizza Club: Elvis is Missing, a mystery book that also features humor and adventure.
