The Perfect Planet is a fantastic story for your readers interested in space. The illustrations are bright and colorful. The super-puff exoplanet was especially fun to think about. The sentence length and word choice were perfect for keeping and holding the attention of the second grader who read this book to me. A few words were challenging, but they did repeat, so it made good practice while learning about different planet types. As the characters consider all the things that make a planet perfect, it also emphasizes how well-suited Earth is to meet our needs. Overall, this is a colorful and engaging way to learn more about planets.
