ZOOM: SPACE ADVENTURE is a fun journey through outer space with Ava. Ava is going on a space adventure, and she first stops at the international space station, making some repairs, before going to the moon to collect scientific samples, then traveling to Mars and viewing the planets in the Solar System. She then heads back home in time for supper.

This board book features plenty of bright colors, cute illustrations, a cat that accompanies Ava on each page, and lots of cut-outs. There is also a fun pop-up on the second to last page to add some extra fun for toddlers.

What I loved: I really love that Ava is a girl of color and astronaut! There are some fun facts about the Solar System in here, and the fun illustrations and cut-outs will certainly delight toddlers. This is longer than the typical board book in terms of number of pages, making it ideal for toddlers who are advancing in terms of reading level, while still keeping the pages thick and easy to turn. The text is pretty simple and certainly keeps it at a young level and making the book move quickly.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, I would have liked some more facts and information on pages to go even a little deeper. This keeps to the basics, which will be great for some young readers, but can be repeat information for readers who already have a bunch of space books. I think the length gives it more potential to dive a little deeper, but the text does stay simple for short attention spans.

Final verdict: Overall, this is a fun space adventure with delightful cut-outs, full page illustrations, and a great main character. Highly recommend for toddlers who want to learn more about space!
