CUPIG SAVES CHRISTMAS is a cute and silly holiday picture book read. Santa is sick this year, and no one else is available to help, so he has asked Cupig to help deliver the gifts. As Cupig visits the houses, things just don't seem right, and she tries to help by removing the hazardous Christmas lights and putting away the cookies they left out. However, in doing all that, she forgets to hand out the gifts. When she arrives back at the North Pole and Santa learns what she has done, he quickly sends her back out to set everything right and deliver the gifts - which she does with a little extra love.
What I loved: This is a cute and silly picture book that will charm young readers who understand the Santa tradition and the ways that it goes awry with Cupig in charge. All is well that ends well, as everything does after Cupig gets a second chance to do Christmas correctly. The illustrations are lots of fun with a unique textured style. The holiday imagery is also great throughout, marking this a great read for Christmastime. The text has a great rhythm and rhyme to it that make it fun to read aloud and listen to as well.
Final verdict: CUPIG SAVES CHRISTMAS is a charming and silly picture book that young readers will enjoy around the holiday!
